Nat's Fundraising Challenge

Story

Hi there!
My name is Natalie Donkin, and I am a  Registered Nurse on the Sydney Adventist Hospitals Paediatric Ward.
We're a pretty lucky country in Australia; and despite what you see and hear in the news our health systems aren't that bad.
I'm volunteering as part of Nepal Reconstructive Program to help the Nepalese that cannot access healthcare that we take for granted. We're hoping to give 40 Nepali's the gift of surgery that will totally transform the lives of the patient and their families.
As many of you already know, I had the great privilege to be part of this wonderful team earlier this year. Many of you saw my photos and listened with great interest to the stories of the amazing, life changing work that is done. Now you have the opportunity to help too.
This program is part of Sydney Adventist Hospital's HealthCare Outreach that coordinates volunteer teams all around the world to provide medical care in developing countries.  This will be the 18th visit to Nepal, and the HealthCare Outreach program has organised over 100 trips in the 25 years it has been established.
Burn Scars are a major health issue in Nepal, yet the cost of surgery is fairly cheap in comparison to Australia.  It costs the team approximately $750-$1000 for each operation.  That covers all the costs of the surgery and follow up care - the patient does not bear any cost.  And then there's the costs associated with taking a specialised medical team to Nepal to complete the surgery!
With no major government funding, this program is being supported by volunteers fundraising efforts, generous individuals and organisations.
By supporting this important work you are providing much needed funds to support the costs of surgery, and also to assist in the associated travel costs for me as a team member.

How many Nepali's live can you afford to make a difference in today?
Please help me make a difference with a secure online donation. Thanks for your support.
